Kartboy's Next Chapter Starts Now

Tom “Kartboy” Deadrick has spent the last 26 years building Kartboy into one of the most trusted and recognizable names in the Subaru world. Founded in 1999, Kartboy was the original performance parts manufacturer in the Subaru aftermarket and quickly became an icon among enthusiasts - known for smart designs, bulletproof quality, and a lighthearted-but-no-nonsense approach that helped shape the community from the ground up.

Now, he’s teamed up with Chad DeBaker, Ryan Mattson and Mark Menzenski of Company23, along with Matt Beenen of BuiltRight Industries, to take things to the next level. Between us, we’ve racked up over 75 years designing and building parts, launching over 400 products along the way.

Together, we're committed to keeping Kartboy true to its roots while pushing hard to bring fresh, genuinely innovative solutions to Subaru enthusiasts. We've got an ambitious product roadmap and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.

Breakfast Burritos in July

After months (years?) of working together to figure out how to make it happen, Matt, Chad, Tom, Ryan, and Mark (left to right) spent a week together soaking up Tom’s wisdom, evaluating inventory, watching Bucky and Lance fight with the Buckit, and laying the groundwork for Kartboy’s future. Imagine five guys win the lottery and get to spend their days designing and building the Subaru parts they’ve always wanted - that’s exactly what it looks like.

And as is tradition, we made it official with breakfast burritos and a first bite photo.

FAQs

Why did Kartboy decide to merge?

After 25 years of grinding, we saw a chance to partner with four like-minded Subaru nerds who could help us scale while staying true to our roots. This partnership allows us to stay scrappy, creative, and focused while delivering even more for our customers.

What exactly is changing with this partnership?

We're joining forces with die-hard Subaru fans, Chad, Ryan and Mark from Company23 as well as Matt of BuiltRight Industries to strengthen our capabilities and expand our product offerings. The Kartboy brand you know and trust isn’t going anywhere - we're just leveling up. Still the same go-fast nerds!

Will Kartboy still exist as a brand?

Yes! Kartboy remains Kartboy. Our name, products and commitment to quality aren't going anywhere. This move just helps us do more of what we love.

Will prices change?

Nope. This isn’t some evil villain origin story where we raise prices and stroke a cat while laughing. We’re keeping things steady. If prices ever change, it’ll be because costs have increased or Tom ordered too many burritos, not because of the partnership with Chad, Ryan, Mark and Matt.

What does this mean for future products or development?

It means we can finally tackle that list of “stuff we’ve always wanted to make.” More parts, more platforms, maybe even a few things you didn’t know you needed until now. We have big plans and are excited to bring innovation back to the Subaru aftermarket.

Who do I contact for support or orders now?

Still us. Same email, same website, same sarcastic replies to your DMs. If you call and someone new answers the phone, don’t worry - Tom taught them all the important stuff, like how to curse at a seized bolt and recommend the right shifter for your weird-ass project.

Will my dealer or wholesale account be affected?

Nope. Your pricing, terms, and dealer status are staying the same. If anything changes, we’ll give you plenty of heads-up. Our dealers and wholesalers have been a very important part of the Kartboy story and we don't plan to change that.

Will the product quality or warranty change?

We’d rather replace lateral link bushings on a Minnesota car than lower our standards. Same badass parts, same “install it once, enjoy forever” vibe. Still backed by a no-bs lifetime warranty.
